More writing. Hope you love it!
Andrew and Neil crawled out of the icy pool of water and looked around them. It definitely didn’t look like what it did from the outside. This was an absolute nightmare. Everywhere they looked, there was snow for hundreds of miles. Maybe if they walked on, they could find warmth? But first, Andrew needed to get dressed into something warm. His teeth were chattering like keys on a keyboard. “One moment Neil, I need to get changed.” Andrew got behind a rock and got dressed. When he come out, Neil was nowhere to be seen. He, was gone.
In front of him was a track of what looked like gigantic tractor wheels. What was it? Were there other humans on this planet? Was it a monster with tractor wheels? There was nothing else to do but to follow them. Maybe he could find his friend.
Andrew had been following the trail for several hours. Hood drawn up over his head to protect him from the savage wind, he continued to trudge along. The only sounds Andrew could hear were the crunch of his feet as they penetrated the layer of snow underneath him, and the faint sound of a cracking sound above his head. He took his hands away from his mouth, (Which he had been warming up) and looked up. It was what looked like the moon, cracking!!! Was it actually cracking? Was Buzz dead? Was he going to stay here without Buzz saving him? Andrew talked to himself. “It’s gonna be okay. It’s gonna be okay,” whispered Andrew as he continued to wander across the plains. This could go on for hours.
Finally, Andrew came to a rocky cave with a small opening. He slid in and looked around. The cave was lit with torches and there were paintings of dragons on the walls. Andrew continued scanning the cave and saw a door, made of rock. He tiptoed towards it and the door creaked open by itself. He peeked in. Inside, was the motionless body of Neil! “Neil! Neil!” Andrew rushed over and checked his pulse. It was still. He was sitting inside a huge pot filled with boiling water. He was roasted. He was dead.
“I see you have come,” Bellowed a deep, gruff, voice. Andrew whipped his head around and saw a monster. It had large ears and tiny wings on his slimy, green back. He had blood all over his teeth. Andrew winced. “This has been a trick, to lure you in to my cave, so I can have second servings,” laughed the ‘thing’. He started rolling on the ground, holding his stomach. For some reason, Andrew thought the thing reminded him of a human
“What are you,” whimpered Andrew as he backed up against the cool wall. “I am the king of Persephone!” “Persephone?” “Do your research boy! Persephone is Hades, or Pluto’s wife. This planet is named after the beautiful Persephone. We people are deciding to destroying that wretched dwarf planet Pluto, to avenge darling Persephone.”
Andrew heard a deafening BOOM! And looked up at ‘thing’. “Was that you,” wondered Andrew as he slid over to the door. “Nah your friend here was very tasty so my tummy didn’t rumble,” answered ‘thing’ as he looked up. “ I better eat you now boy, or you could run away!” He lunged at poor Andrew as he dodged the heavy figure. “Arrhhhh!” Growled ‘thing’ as he backed up. With another BOOM!, the ceiling give in, crushing down ‘thing’ as he wailed and cried. “Aiaiai Ahhh! Help me boy!” “No thanks.” Andrew ran as fast as his legs could take him.
Andrew leaped out just in time as something enormous crushed the cave. It was the moon! It had fallen! Andrew opened and closed his mouth like a fish looking for a meal. His problems weren’t solved yet. The moon rolled swiftly towards him. All he could think of was run! He sprinted and sprinted towards nowhere as the moon followed him like a dog. Soon, Andrew came to a cliff! Beneath the cliff was a pit of snakes, opening and closing their mouth looking for dinner. There was nowhere to go. If he moved back he would get squished, but if he jumped he would get eaten. He would much rather get eaten than squished, so there was nothing to do.
He jumped. He fell into the slippery pits of the snakes. It was surprisingly comfortable. He closed his eyes and held his breath. Nothing happened. He opened his heavy eyelids. He was so stupid! The moon would fall off the cliff and would come rolling after him, but surprisingly, the moon stopped! All the frightened snakes all slid away or got squished. He was saved! He was saved! He slowly stood up with his aching legs and looked behind him. He nimbly climbed up the moon and got back onto the cliff.
He looked up and saw the glimpse of the apollo 11! He called out, “Hey! Hey! Down here!” The aircraft slowly descended down to the icy ground. “Buzz! How are you alive,” asked Andrew, hugging Buzz.
“It’s a long story. So the moon cracked, and I fell through! But then, a peculiar animal came and saved me! He was a dark purple color with lots of skinny arms. I asked him where to find you, and he said that the moon would fall, and wherever it landed, you guys would be. Anyway, where’s Neil,” asked Buzz suspiciously as he finally broke out of Andrew’s arms.
“He’s dead. Hot boiled. Roasted. Cooked. Anyway, can we go back to earth? I’m freezing.” “Ok Andrew, let’s go. We will have a funeral back at home.” Andrew climbed into the ship and lay on the floor and fainted.
When he woke up, he was lying in the recovery room of NASA. His family were all surrounding him worriedly. “Oh Andrew,” cried his wife as she hugged him. “We thought you were dead!!!” whailed his little boy, Tarek. Andrew loved being an astronaut, but he loved staying with his family even more.
