Summer Learning Journey
Here is my week 4 day 3 activity. I hope you like it.
It's Leslie here and I'm a member of the Summer Learning Journey team, reading your blog from home in Canada. It's fun to think of you doing these activities during your summer break, while I'm in the midst of a very cold winter day. The temperature outside is -24 C today - that's cold!!! Brrr... When I walk our dog today I'll have a lot of clothes on, needless to say!!
I'm so glad that you've chosen to be part of the program this summer - good for you! I hope you've enjoyed learning about the different projects that are in place to eliminate some of the problem predators around New Zealand. People are very creative in solving problems, aren't they?!
Your Maui dolphin facts are well done - tricky enough to make it interesting to try to figure out which are true and which are false!!
And I quite like your list of animals that you'd like to protect from extinction. I see that you think they're cute, but perhaps there are other good reasons for protecting them. Since all animals' behaviours impact on the world around them, it might be that if we lose any one of these species, we'd then lose a lot more because they affect the environment in which they live.
There's so much for us to know, isn't there, about how connected all of the living creatures in the world are....
Keep up your great work and I hope you're enjoying your summer holidays!!
