  1. Hi Alodia,

It's Leslie here, writing to you from my home in Canada as a member of the Summer Learning Journey team. Isn't it amazing that you and I can live on opposite sides of the world and yet participate in the same program? Very fun!

You've chosen a really cool way to present the 3 activities in Week 4 Day 4 of the SLJ. I think your logo and slogan are beautifully done. And the message is very clear - good for you!

It's also a good idea that you've shared your work in the program with your family members, such as your sister. I agree with her that eliminating the use of plastic bags will have a positive result for our sea life, and our soil too. I would like to know what you think about it. Do you agree that Countdown has done the right thing?
In my household we take reusable fabric bags to the grocery store to bring our shopping home - we try to not use plastic, as much as possible. Sometimes we even take our laundry baskets with us, if we're doing a big shopping. They're easy to pack and they allow us to carry all the groceries into the house in one trip. It's great!

I also agree with your arguments as to why the number of visitors to Machu Piichu should be limited. Tourism is causing damage to many unique and special places in the world. We have to give some hard thought to the problem of giving everyone a chance to know about them, without damaging them. It's a challenge!!

I hope you've enjoyed these activities and that you're also having fun in the sun during your school break!!

    Cheers,

    Leslie

    1. Hello Leslie,
Thank you for commenting on my blog. I also think that it's good that countdown has stopped using plastic bags.
